THE LITTLE FOXES - By Lillian
Hellman
Directed byYaga Brady
Within the walls of an elegant Southern
home, ca. 1900, gather the scheming, ruthless, and greedy
Hubbard siblings, manipulating business deals and personal
relationships with cruelty and arrogance, even at the expense
of those closest to them. An American classic which is
both a high-tier melodrama and a penetrating character study of evildoers and their victims.

Like Margaret
Mitchell and Gone With the Wind, Harper Lee wrote only
one novel, but what a
novel it is. To Kill a Mockingbird became an instant classic
and went on to be a wonderful movie earning Gregory Peck his
Oscar.
The play faithfully
translates to the stage the story of what happens when a young
black man is falsely accused of attacking a white girl.
Against the opinion
of much of the town, one man comes to his defense, a widowered,
middle aged lawyer, Atticus Finch, the father of two small children.
His quiet courage and tenacity against great odds is the crux
of the story.
We are a non-profit community
theater located in the East Falls section of Philadelphia. The
Old Academy building was constructed in 1819 and has been our
home since 1932. Both Grace Kelly and Robert Prosky started their
acting careers on our stage.
